    The Cross-Border Traders Association

The ITC-COMESA Trade Facilitation Training program has also been implemented through in-person workshops in partnership with the Cross-border Traders' Association (CBTA) present at selected border posts.

Under the COMESA umbrella, national CBTA Chapters have been formed in several countries such as Malawi, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Congo, Burundi and Kenya.

The CBTA is a membership-based organization with over 37,000 members. It was formed in Zambia in 1999 through the initiative of cross-border traders who needed a uniform voice to advocate for the removal of trade barriers, as well as to promote a Traders’ Charter.

If you are interested in learning more about what CBTA has to offer and wish to become a member, please don't hesitate to contact the Association via email at: cbtnesa@gmail.com
